Pastor Burt Corley and his family joined our congregation in February 2015. Burt was raised in the small town of Ball in central Louisiana. He enlisted in the Army at the age of 17 and served for 20 years retiring in 2012.

While stationed at Ft. Campbell, Ky. he met Christina and they were married in 1999. Christina is a "military brat" born in Ft. Stewart, Ga. and claiming Clarksville, Tn. as her hometown. God has blessed them with a beautiful daughter, Bailey. The Corley's enjoy being outdoors geocaching, hiking, and taking pictures.

Pastor Burt holds a Bachelor's in Multidisciplinary Studies from Liberty University and a Master of Divinity from Liberty University Rawlings School of Divinity.

Pastor Burt's desire for CBC is that God be glorified. Practically, Pastor Burt's vision is for CBC to develop disciples of Jesus Christ who Live A Life Of LOVE by Loving God Completely, Self Correctly, & Others Compassionately. Instrumental to this is a faithful interpretation of God's Word passionately communicated in a relevant and Christ exalting manner. This should result in the community of CBC being a culture of LOVE where people are reached, loved, & encouraged to a deep and obedient walk with the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Vision of CBC is to Glorify God by making Disciples of Jesus Christ who LIVE A LIFE OF LOVE. Living a Life of Love means Loving God Completely; Loving Self Correctly; & Loving Others Compassionately. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3

Each aspect of Living a Life of Love has both an individual & corporate element.

Individual - Deuteronomy 6:4-5; Matthew 22:37-38; Mark 12:29-30; Luke 10:27

Each individual follwer of Christ should seek to love the Lord their God with all their Heart, Soul, & Mind. "May we know thee more clearly, love thee more dearly, and follow thee more nearly." - St. Richard of Chichester.

Corporate - Psalm 100:1-5; 1 Timothy 2:1-2, 4:14; Ephesians 5:18-19; Hebrews 10: 24-25

As a corporate body of beleivers we come together weekly to express our Love for God collectively but our corporate worship is born out of daily lives lived worshipping God in all that we say and do.

Individual -  Genesis 1:26-27; Psalm 139:14; Romans 3:23; John 3:16; Mark 1:15; Romans 8:34; John 1:12, 15:1-5; 1 Corinthians 3;16.

This is recognizing that I am fearfully & wonderfully made in the image of God, but that because of sin I am seperated from God and in need of His Love and Grace to save me. Realizing that He Loved me so much that He sacrificed His own son, Jesus Christ to pay the price for my sin and that Jesus rose the 3rd day and is now seated at the right hand of God interceding on my behalf. Understanding that if I repent of my sin and follow Jesus I am a Child of God, a friend of Jesus, and a temple of the Holy Spirit who dwells in me.

Corporate - John 13:34, 15:12, 17; Romans 13:8; 1 Thessalonians 3:12, 4:9; 1 Peter 1:22;

1 John 3:11, 4:7, 11; 2 John 5.

This is expressed in living out the 47 "One Another" commands given to the Church in the New Testament. The most prominant and repeated of these being to "Love One Another." For if we cannot love those within the Body of Christ (the Church) we will not be able to love those outside of the church and any attempt to do so will be seen for what it is hollow and empty.

Individual & Corporate - Matthew 22:39, 28:18-20; Mark 12:33; Luke 10:25-37.

This is expressed in the same manner individually and corporately and it is living out the Great Commandment and Great Commission. Loving People by providing for their physical needs as well as their spiritual need of Jesus Christ. We cannot neglect either in the pursuit of the other.

We are not a perfect church being filled with broken people (including the pastor) all in need of God's Grace, which is God's undeserved Love, Favor, & Compassion. As recipients of God's Love & Grace it is our desire to be conduits of that Love and Grace to others. We would love to have you join us in LIVING A LIFE OF LOVE!
